Dog Tag, Cpl. Francis Lentz, Co. B, 94th Medical Gas Treating Bn., ETO
Genuine WWII US Army dog tag, of the early Monel type, issued to some Lentz, Francis L., ASN 33669993, vaccinated in 1943 and 1944, blood type A, Catholic, and indicating the name and address of next-of-kin.
Quite good overall condition.
Francis Louis Lentz was born on June 16, 1917 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on April 1st, 1943. He went on to serve with Company B, 94th Medical Gas Treatment Battalion and deployed to Europe from May 12, 1944 to July 27, 1945. Though initially intended for treating gas casualties, this unit actually performed various tasks during the European Campaign (medical support, triage and evacuation of the wounded), following the Third Army from France to Germany, through Luxembourg and Belgium. He was discharged on September 8, 1945 as a Corporal, and passed away on June 3, 1966.
