Interesting genuine WWII US Army M1936 field bag, rubberized khaki canvas, issued in lieu of the haversack to officers and other personnel such as airborne troops and armored crews. Manufactured by The Langdon Tent & Awning Co. and dated 1943.

Good overall condition. Name Carnavali has been written on the flap above a small, hand-drawn Technician 4th Grade rank insignia. Laudnry number C-0168 has been written under the above-mentioned flap.

Joseph Natali Carnavali was born on December 25, 1919 in Kenilworth, Utah and joined the US Army on November 17, 1941 (ASN 39680168). He went on to serve with the 76th Field Artillery Battalion prior to transferring to the USAAF in 1944 and was discharged in November 1945. At the time of writing, it seems that Joe Carnavali, now 103 years old, is still alive.
