Interesting genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of an M1936 belt (S. Froehlich Co. 1942), an M1942 first-aid pouch (B.A.B. Co. 1943) retaining its complete Carlisle first-aid packet, and a canteen with matching cup (S.M. Co. 1944) coming in its original canvas cover (Shane Mfg. Co. 1942).
Name J.R. Holmes has been stenciled on the belt, first-aid pouch and canvas cover, while officer's ASN O-712011 is only clearly visible on the belt.
Nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
2nd Lieutenant John R. Holmes went missing on February 22, 1945 in the crash of B-25G Mitchell serial 42-65132, in the Carribean.
