Holster, Belt, Pistol, Colt M1911A1, Theater-Made

Rare genuine WWII US theater-made brown leather holster, intended for the M1911A1 Colt pistol or some revolver, and featuring a leather belt loop.

This open-top sheath, largely based on the standard issue M3 and M7 shoulder holsters, has a securing strap fitted with a Lift-the-Dot fastener (in working order), as well as a braided leather lace.

The front has been adorned with five stars roughly cut out from a piece of leather, along with a total of thirteen nails likely taken from some captured German officers' shoulder boards.

Initials JH have been discretely stamped on the lower part.

A great artifact in quite good, used condition.
