Genuine WWII US Army M1928 haversack, of the standard regulation type issued to various branches of service in most theaters of operations.
Made in Britain by Bagcraft, Ltd. in 1944.
Good overall condition; retains all original straps and meat can pouch (pack carrier is missing).
Name Pilling and ASN 36676164 have been written on the flap.
Alfred Paul Pilling was born on August 4, 1918 in German Valley, Illinois and joined the US Army on July 26, 1943. He went on to serve in the Armored Force and deployed to Europe with Troop C, 3rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized). He was discharged on February 1st, 1946 as a Master Sergeant, and passed away on December 30, 1998.
