Great genuine WWII US Navy seersucker service jacket, intended for female personnel of the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).
Very good overall condition; retains its original collar insignia and Yeoman 2nd Class sleeve insignia; all buttons are missing.

The name tag sewn in the collar indicates that the present uniform once belonged to some Grace Rebecca Walsh.
Grace Rebecca Walsh was born on May 24, 1924 in Buffalo, New York and joined the US Navy on December 28, 1944. She was discharged on August 24, 1946 as a Yeoman 2nd Class, and married John Clyde Lord in 1947. She passed away on July 14, 2023.
