Flag, US, 48-Star, Theater-Made, Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes, Omaha Beach, June 7 & 8, 1944

Interesting genuine WWII US flag, featuring 48 stars cut out from cardboard.

Dimensions: about 2ft 1.6in x 2ft 5.52in.

Quite good overall condition; the following mention has been written on the reverse:

~ Sainte Honorine des Pertes-sur Mer [sic]
Les 7 et 8 juin 1944 ~
"Paix Bombardement
Melle Suberville"

These indications tend to acknowledge the fact that the present flag was displayed following the liberation of Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes, a town located near Colleville-sur-Mer, on the very eastern end of Omaha Beach.
