Scarce and nice genuine WWII British sleeve gas detector, issued to airborne troops and first-wave units of the amphibious landings on D-Day. This brown paper armband was impregnated with a chemical reagent intended for alerting its wearer in the case of a gas attack otherwise undetectable. This type was massively used by the US Army.

The present detector is in good overall condition. Dated March 1943.
