Interesting and scarce genuine WWII German ammunition case, of the early production aluminium type, intended for containing MG 34 and MG 42 belts. Dated 1939.
The present box is in quite good, used condition and retains some of its original paint. The lid is damaged around the hinge opposite the locking mechanism. Various markings have been either painted or engraved on this box -- mention 3 KP ᛋᛋ is clearly visible near the latch and number 9940 appears on one side.
Empty.
The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.
