Genuine WWII German Brotbeutel 31 canvas musette bag, generally known as 'bread bag'. Production markings are hardly legible.
This piece of gear was standard issue for the German infantryman: although first intended for carrying the daily food ration, it was often used a catch-all for personal belongings.
The present bag is in good overall condition and retains all original metal buttons and 'D' rings, as well as its various leather straps. A tag bearing name Sachse has been sewn under the flap.
