Medal, Bronze Star, in Case, Bronze Star, Pfc. Bernard Bond, 152nd Inf. Reg., 38th Infantry Division, WIA, PTO
Genuine WWII US Bronze Star Medal, coming in its original case with lapel badge. Name Bernard N. Bond has been engraved on the reverse side.
Bernard Nelson Bond was born on October 28, 1919 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He joined the National Guard on September 12, 1938 and was inducted into federal sevice on January 17, 1941 (ASN 20533311). He went on to serve with the 152nd Infantry Regiment, 38th Infantry Division and deployed to the Pacific in 1943, participating in various campaigns, including New Guinea and the Phillipines. He was wounded by a rifle bullet in the abdomen in February 1945 and discharged on July 19 of that year. He passed away on December 25, 1995.
