Genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of a Purple Heart medal and Bronze Star medal, each coming in its original case with ribbon bar and lapel badge.
Name Stephen J. Pako has been engraved on the reverse of the Bronze Star.
Very nice homogeneous set, in excellent overall condition.
Stephen Joseph Pako was born on December 17, 1920 in Throop, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on October 8, 1942 (ASN 33355928). He went on to serve with Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, deployed to Europe on April 6, 1944 and participated in the Battles of Normandy and the Bulge. He was wounded in action on January 10, 1945 in Belgium and repatriated on November 26 of that year. He was discharged four days later as a Private First Class, and passed away on August 16, 2006.
