Name Raymond E. O'Beirne has been engraved on the reverse of the medal.
Complete and homogeneous set, in excellent overall condition.
Raymond Edward O'Beirne was born on September 18, 1916 in Bogota, New Jersey. As a member of the National Guard, he was inducted into Federal Service on January 23, 1942 (ASN 20237671). He went on to serve with Company M, 121st Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, deployed to Europe, and was killed in action on August 19, 1944 near Dinard, Brittany, France. Initially buried in Saint-James, Normandy, France, his body was later repatriated and buried in Long Island National Cemetery, New York in 1949.
