Extremely rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which once belonged to some Technician 4th Grade Harry V. Ostrander, Company F, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and includes the following elements:

- Bronze Star medal coming in its original case along with lapel badge; name Harry V. Ostrander has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;

- Purple Heart medal coming in its original case along with lapel badge; name Harry V. Ostrander has been engraved on the reverse of the medal, too;

- cigarette case made by Volupté, adorned with nickname 'Renie' on the top and bearing the following mention under the lid:

A truly amazing homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.

Harry Vance Ostrander was born on January 31, 1924 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on September 15, 1942 (12166966). He was awarded his 'jump wings' and went on to serve with 1st Platoon, 2nd Squad, Company F, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division, deploying to Europe where he parachuted into Normandy on June 6, 1944 (Stick 75). Slightly wounded by a bullet one week later, he participated in the ensuing campaign until he was more seriously hit by shrapnel in early 1945. He was discharged on September 19 of that year as a Technician 4th Grade, and passed away on July 26, 2007.
