Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Case, hallmarked on crossguard and featuring the Ordnance Department flaming bomb stamped on pommel. Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, first type, modified, with impregnated canvas belt loop; snap fastener of securing strap is in working order.
The Case Compay made more versions of the present knife than any other manufacturer. These variations included two different blade markings and two guard markings. Some had a bent guard and others were straight. The handle variations were smooth, rigged and grooved types.
Nice homogeneous set in good, used condition.
The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.
