Nice genuine WWI US M1918 Trench Knife, manufactured by L.F. & C. and dated 1918, featuring the characteristic knuckle cast handle and double-edged blade. This type was widely issued to US Rangers, Marines and paratroops during WWII, until officially superseded by the USM3 in 1943. However, many warriors would still prefer the M1918 Trench Knife, as seen on numerous wartime photos. The left side of the guard and the knuckle duster of the present knife have been cut off.

Comes in its scarce genuine WWII USM6 leather scabbard, intended for the USM3 knife. Approved on January 2, 1943, the USM6 sheath features strengthening pieces consisting of two rectangular metal plates -- one on each side -- fastened by four rivets, thus keeping the leather parts together. Fastening of these two leather pieces is also ensured by rivets and a strong sewn seam, while an eyelet allows for a leg lace. The handle is secured by a strap with snap fastener. Metal staples reinforce the top of the sheath on which the hilt rests; production markings are clearly stamped on the leather: U.S. M6 Milsco 1943.

A great and homogeneous set in good overall condition, hard to find nowadays. Don't miss it!
