Interesting genuine WWII US fighting knife, manufactured by Kinfolks.
The grip of the present knife, which is in rather used condition, has been entirely covered with tape; the pommel cap is missing.
Comes in its original theater-made scabbard, made up of two pieces of leather lined with two metal sheets and assembled together with a total of 14 rivets; a belt loop has been cut through the upper part of the sheath. The locket features the following hand-engraved inscription: Made for George Kuczma by Brother John - Love & Luck.
George Kuczma was born on December 28, 1916 in a Polish family in Shutesbury, Massachussetts and joined the US Navy on October 26, 1942 (service number 666-90-67). He deployed to the Pacific as a Coxswain with a Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) and participated in the campaign of Guadalcanal. He passed away on February 16, 2000. John was his big brother.
