The Case Compay made more versions of this kinfe than any other manufacturer -- variations included two different blade markings and two guard markings; some had a bent guard and others were straight, whereas the handle variations were smooth, rigged, and grooved types.
Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, of the early, hookless type, manufactured by B.M. Co. -- snap fastener of handle securing strap is in working order.

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on blade, which shows some major modifications. The original stacked-leather grip, lower guard and upper guard have been replaced with some custom-made aluminium elements, thus giving the present knife additional lightness and handiness. Comes in its original USM8 bakelite scabbard of the early, hookless type, hallmarked B.M. Co. and on which initials JS have been engraved; snap fastener of the securing strap is in working order; the leather lace intended for securing the assembly to the wearer's leg is still attached to the sheath. Great homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Great genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Kinfolks, Inc. and hallmarked on blade, showing some major modifications. The original stacked-leather grip has been replaced with some custom-made plexiglas elements and black rubber spacers; the pommel cap was likely reforged, too, while name Kurdziel has been engraved on both sides of the blade. Good overall condition; comes in some original leather scabbard, manufactured in Sydney, Australia in 1943; snap fastener is in working order. Raymond Ignatius Kurdziel was born on July 5, 1922 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on September 24, 1942 (ASN 13116570). He went on to serve with 46th Depot Repair Squadron, 8th Air Force and deployed to Europe from July 17, 1943 to July 19, 1945, prior to being discharged on November 1st of that year as a Sergeant. Stunning genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Kinfolks, Inc. , hallmarked on blade and featuring the Ordnance Department flaming bomb stamped on pommel. The original leather washers have been entirely replaced with some thin cord, carefully wrapped and stuck around the grip so that it ends in some sort of sailing knot. The blade is particularly well preserved. Comes in its original hookless USM8 bakelite scabbard, manufactured by B.M. Co . The small strap intended for securing the hilt has been removed. Homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, showing no visible markings and featuring a couple of modifications. The crossguard and pommel cap have been replaced with handcrafted elements, likely made in antler. Comes in its original theater-made leather scabbard, on top of which a small canvas strap, collected from a standard USM8 scabbard, has been added -- snap fastener is in working order. Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on crossguard, which features an unusual customization. The grip and the pommel cap have been entirely covered with some sort of colored resin, embellished with plant fiber latticework in the middle. Comes in its original hookless USM8 bakelite scabbard, which was also coated with the above-mentioned resin and vegetable fiber meshing; the motif visible on the locket is quite reminiscent of the Confederate battle flag despite the lack of stars; snap fastener is in working order. Very nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on guard. The Ordnance Department flaming bomb was stamped on pommel cap. Comes in its original USM6 leather scabbard, featuring strengthening pieces consisting of two rectangular metal plates fastened by four rivets, which keep the leather parts together. Fastening of these pieces is also ensured by rivets and a strong sewn seam. Staples reinforce the top of the sheath on which the hilt rests. Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. The scabbard can be attached onto the M1936 belt thanks to the bent-wire hook. Markings U.S. M6 Milsco 1943 are clearly visible on the front. Some symbol has been grossly carved on the scabbard -- maybe Greek letter epsilon ( ε). Rare homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition -- hard to find nowadays. Don't miss it!
