Genuine WWII US Western Shark fighting knife, hallmarked Western, Boulder, Colo., Pat. No. 1,967,479 on the ricasso.

Bowie blade (5.7in), grip made of stacked leather washers, steel pommel.

This type was particularly popular with USMC and USN aircrews in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Quite good, used condition; comes in its original leather scabbard, on which the following details have been carved: P.G. Brownell, La Vabulas, VF-2.
