Knife, Trench, USM3, R.C. CO. on Blade, with Scabbard, USM6, MILSCO 1943

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Robeson Cutlery Co., hallmarked on blade and featuring the Ordnance Corps stamp under the guard.

Only 36,575 knives were produced by this company.

Comes in its original USM6 leather scabbard, featuring strengthening pieces that consist of two rectangular metal plates fastened by four rivets, which keep the leather parts together.

Fastening of these leather pieces is also ensured by rivets and a strong sewn seam, while an eyelet allows for a leg lace (still present). Staples reinforce the top of the sheath on which the hilt rests. Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. The scabbard can be attached to the M1936 belt thanks to the bent-wire hook. Markings U.S. M6 Barwood 1943 on the front are still visible.

A nice homogeneous set, in rather good overall condition — hard to find nowadays. Don't miss it!
