Great genuine Vietnam War US Army M1 helmet, rear rim seam and swivel loops, shell number hardly legible.
Canvas chinstrap with steel hook and buckle.
Retains its original liner, of the specific type intended for airborne troops, retaining its cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, black-painted A washers, A yokes, chinstrap and chin cup.
This assembly comes along with a Mitchell Pattern reversible camouflage helmet cover, showing a contract number which corresponds to 1963; various annotations visible on this cover indicate that it once belonged to some David J. Laney.
Rare homogeneous and complete set, in very good overall condition.
