Nice genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet liner, of the synthetic resin-coated, compressed-fiber type manufactured by Westinghouse. The outer surface retains most of its original paint and the left side features the Second Army Corps (II Corps) insignia (decal). The latter took part in Operation Torch (Tunisia) and Operation Husky (Sicily) prior to fighting in the Italian campaign.
OD 3 cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband and blackened-brass A washers.
