Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, Captain, IMP Liner, Chaplain


Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 61A. Original canvas chinstrap with early brass buckle and hook. Both the outer and inner surfaces feature a green color. Name Dick and a Captain rank insignia have been painted on the front.

Comes with its original liner, manufactured by International Molded Plastics, Inc., retaining its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, and showing oxidized A washers. A Latin Cross has been painted on the front, which may indicate that the former owner was a Chaplain.

Nice homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
