Genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 227B.
Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook -- the left part of the chinstrap is coming apart.
The outer surface of the shell, which has been covered with a layer of grey paint, shows remnants of a theater-made camouflage scheme made up of black stains, while initials BGO have been painted in red on the front.
Comes along with its liner manufactured by Westinghouse, retaining its webbing suspension, leather sweatband, blackened-brass A washers (oxidized), and leather chinstrap.
Nice homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
