Helmet, M1, Fixed Loops, 5th Infantry Division, Battle-Damaged

€2,450.00

Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 780 C.

Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.

The insignia of the 5th Infantry Division has been painted on the front.

The present shell shows four holes of various sizes and shapes: two may correspond to the points of entry of the projectiles (rear and left rear of the helmet), while the other two probably correspond to the exit points (left front and right side -- the latter did not pierce the steel completely).
