Genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 158D.
Original early production canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The outer surface of the shell features an interesting camouflage scheme, made up of ochre and gray paint stains applied with a brush.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Westinghouse, which retains its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, and plain painted A washers (oxidized).
Rare homogeneous set in quite good, worn condition.
