Liner, Helmet, M1, MSA, Green A Washers, Lt. Col. George Mildonian

Interesting genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet liner of the synthetic resin-coated, compressed-fiber type.

Manufactured by Mine Safety Appliances Co.

A Lieutenant Colonel rank insignia has been painted on the front, under name Mildonian.

Retains its khaki cotton web suspension and OD-painted A washers -- partly oxidized.

Quite good, worn condition.

George Aster Mildonian was born on December 27, 1898 in Armenia. A World War I veteran and a National Guard officer, he deployed to Japan with the occupation forces in November 1945. He passed away on October 29, 1988.
