Interesting genuine WWII US M1 helmet, front rim seam and swivel loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 926A.
Original canvas chinstrap with late production buckle and hook.
The right front part of the shell must have been hardly hit by some projectile, which has embossed the steel without piercing it.
Comes along with its original liner, manufactured by Firestone, which retains suspension and leather sweatband, leather chinstrap and blackened-brass A washers. The outer surface shows an impact at the very same spot, though much less significant than the one visible on the shell. Name Raymond J. Rediske and ASN 36846739 are visible on the inner surface, while partial ASN 6739 was inked on the suspension.

Raymond John Rediske was born on June 4, 1926 in Fayette, Iowa and joined the US Army in September 1944. He was discharged on June 29, 1946 and later served in the US Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He passed away on March 22, 2018.
