Rare genuine WWII US M1 Army helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number hardly legible.
Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
The outer surface of the shell has been adorned with four white discs, each bearing a red cross to indicate the medical role of its wearer.
Comes with its original liner, made by Firestone, which retains its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, leather sweatband, blackened-brass A washers, and leather chinstrap produced by United Carr; just like the steel helmet, the outer surface of the present liner shows four red crosses painted on white discs.
A truly amazing homogeneous set, complete and in very good overall condition.
