Rare genuine WWII US M1 Army helmet, front rim seam and swivel loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number hardly legible.

Original canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.

The outer surface has been adorned with three white discs, each bearing a red cross.

Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Mine Safety Appliances, which retains its khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband and OD-painted A washers; a swastika has been drawn on the top, and a red cross at the rear.

Amazing homogeneous set in rather good, worn condition.
