Extremely rare amazing genuine WWII US Army Parachute First-Aid Packet, of the early production type with zipper.
Bearing mention First Aid, this plasticized cloth pouch was designed for containing an individual wound dressing in its cardboard box, a tourniquet and a morphine syrette. Thanks to the four canvas straps, the whole assembly could be attached onto suspenders or any other piece of gear.
Initially intended for parachute troops, this type was also issued to USAAF aircrews, such as the 8th Air Force bomber crews.
In excellent overall condition, the present packet retains all original contents -- Carlisle wound dressing in unopened condition dated 1942, tourniquet and syrette of porphine with taxes label dated 1942. Talon zipper is in working order.
