End Keeper, Adjustable, for Canvas Chinstrap, M1 helmet

Genuine WWII US blackened brass adjustable end keeper. It was crimped to the end of the canvas chinstrap. The end keeper enabled the wearer to adjust the length of the chinstrap. Most GIs however didn't use the chinstrap as such. They set the clip end at the maximum and buckled the chinstrap up on the rear of the helmet.  Perfect to repair or make your chinstrap.

Genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some Corporal Theodore S. Wilk  and includes the following items: - dog tag issued to  Theodore S. Wilk , ASN 32379378, vaccinated in 1942, blood type B, Catholic, with name and address of next-of-kin -- here, his mother; - M1 helmet liner, of the synthetic resin-coated, compressed-fiber type manufactured by Firestone , adorned with the 88th Infantry Division insignia painted on the left side and retaining all original parts: khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband and OD-painted A washers; - lot of various medals and insignias: Good Conduct Medal (complete), Marksman badge with 'Rifle' bar, two 88th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignias and one distinctive unit insignia, a single Artillery collar disc, and a WWII Victory Medal ribbon bar. Two Blue Devils shoulder titles, two Veterans of Foreign Wars commemorative medals and three small souvenir pin badges complete the present set, which is in very good overall condition. Theodore S. Wilk  was born on April 21, 1921 in Buffalo, New York in a Polish family and joined the US Army on July 3, 1942.
