Nice genuine WWII commemorative plaque, made from shell casings. On the reverse, the mention Déposé is visible, meaning 'Registered'.
The central engraving, above which the name Reims can be seen and under which appears the year 1945, represents the very building where Nazi Germany signed the unconditonal surrender, along with the words Capitulation du Reich. The phrase Little Red School House visible on the left corresponds to the common name used by Americans to refer to the Collège Moderne et Technique, where the above-mentioned surrender took place on May 7, 1945. The words May 8th, 1945, France appear on the right side.
