Genuine WWII US Army synthetic resin-coated cotton cloth pouch, intended for carrying various tools and accessories for the M1 Garand rifle, as well as the M1 carbine and Thompson submachine gun.
This item first appears in the May 21, 1943 Standard Nomenclature List for the M1 Garand. Two of these pouches can be seen on the trousers of David Morris in the well-known photograph of Easy Company, 506th PIR troopers taken at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont on June 7, 1944.
Very good overall condition.
