Genuine WWII US pocket New Testament featuring a gold-plated steel shield on the front cover, bearing this sentence May this keep you safe from harm. When placed in the front shirt pocket, this item was supposed to stop a bullet or shrapnel and thus save the serviceman's life...
Complete (520 pages) and in good, used condition. The various annotations handwritten inside indicate that it was gifted to some Patricia Downs, known as 'Patsy', from Ravenna, Michigan, by her grandfather Harvey Harmer.
