Scarce genuine WWII US FT-501 battery adapter, intended for the BC-611 'handie-talkie'. Introduced in 1944, this holder was designed to receive two BA-30 batteries in lieu of the BA-37 battery. According to the Technical Manual, one of these two BA-30 batteries could be replaced with an empty .50-caliber case.
The present battery holder is in quite good overall condition. Hard to find nowadays.
