Truly exceptionnal genuine WWII US Army leather boxing helmet, manufactured by Wilson for the Special Services and signed by famous professional boxer Jake LaMotta.
Created on July 22, 1940 by the War Department, the Special Services were the entertainment branch of the Armed Forces.
Quite good, worn condition; retains its original chinstrap.

GiacobbeLaMotta, a.k.a. 'Jake', was born on July 10, 1922 in New York City to Italian parents. He started his career in 1941, avoided military service because of an ear injury, and was World Middleweight Champion in 1949, 1950 and 1951. He passed away on September 19, 2017.

The Code provides additional penalties, including the confiscation of the items used or intended for committing the offence.
