It will be delivered with a small or medium mesh net, depending on availability. Introduced in 1942, this helmet was worn by American paratroopers in all major campaigns of World War II, including North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Normandy, Southern France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. By late 1944 or early 1945, many M2s were being replaced by the M1C, a similar model with improved swivel bales.
