Scarce genuine WWII US Army Other Ranks wool serge off-duty jacket, which belonged to Technician 3rd Grade Raymond B. Wojciechowski, 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division.
The present jacket retains all original buttons and insignias: 5th Infantry Division shoulder patch, Technician 3rd Grade rank stripes, US and Infantry collar discs, 11th Infantry Regiment distinctive unit insignias, Combat Infantry Badge, medal ribbons (Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Battle Stars) and Service Stripe. No label visible. Name Wojciechowski and laundry number W-6781 have been handwritten in the jacket.
Raymond Bernard Wojciechowski, a.k.a. 'Stretch' because of his height (6'4"), was born on July 18, 1915 in Lemont, Illinois and joined the US Army on October 27, 1939 (ASN 06916781). He passed away on August 13, 2000.
