Nice genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of an 'Ike Jacket' of the type adopted in April 1944 and a 'Special' khaki flannel shirt.
The jacket retains the following insignia: U.S. and Infantry collar disks, 5th and 102nd Infantry Divisions shoulder sleeve insignias, Technician 5th Grade rank stripes, Combat Infantry Badge, 'Ruptured Duck' and Overseas Service Bars. Label is dated June 3, 1944; size 38R. Name Mass. E.L. and ASN 37098146 have been handwritten in the collar.
The standard issue flannel shirt also retains its 5th and 102nd Infantry Divisions shoulder sleeve insignias, Technician 5th Grade rank stripes and Overseas Service Bars.
Size 14 ½ x 32. Laundry number M-8146 has been inked inside.
Great homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
Elmer Leo Mass was born on February 2, 1918 in Henning, Minnesota and joined the US Army on January 15, 1942. He went on to serve with the 2nd Infantry Regiment (5th Infantry Division) prior to transferring to the 409th Infantry Regiment (103rd Infantry Division). Discharged on November 5, 1945, he passed away on March 4, 1997.

Mahon, Company I , 115th Infantry Regiment , 29th Infantry Division . The present jacket retains its original insignia: 29th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia, U.S. and Infantry collar discs, medal ribbons (Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with fourStars), Combat Infantryman Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, 'Ruptured Duck', and Overseas Service Bars. Label is dated June 9, 1944, size 36S. Name Mahon , ASN 32909126 and laundry number M9126 have been written in the collar. A garison cap featuring the light blue piping of the Infantry (size 7 1/8), in which laundry number M9126 has also been written, comes along with the present uniform, which is in very good overall condition and retains all original buttons. He joined the US Army as a Catholic chaplain on January 2, 1944 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant (officer's ASN O-542343) and went on to serve in France and Germany. Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of a regulation 'Ike Jacket' introduced in April 1944 and a flannel shirt with gas flap, which belonged to some unidentifed Sergeant who deployed to Europe with the 104th Infantry Division as a Combat Leader. The jacket retains its buttons and the following insignias: Ports of Embarkation (Transportation Corps) and 104th Infantry Division shoulder patches, Sergeant rank stripes with green felt stripes indicating the status of Combat Leader, U.S. and Infantry collar disks, medal ribbons (American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal with one Star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Stars), Meritorious Service Unit Badge, Service Stripe, and Overseas Service Bars. Label is dated June 10, 1944, size 36L. Good overall condition. Very nice and rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of an 'Ike Jacket' of the type adopted in April 1944, a standard issue OD flannel shirt, and a rubberized M1936 field bag, which all belonged to Private First Class Irving A. Frank , who served with the 78th and 46th Medical Battalions (8th and 4th Armored Divisions). The jacket retains the following insignias: 8th and 4th Armored Divisions shoulder patches, Private First Class rank stripes, 46th Medical Battalion distinctive unit insignia, 'Ruptured Duck', Distinctive Unit Citation, medal ribbon (Army of Occupation Medal), Meritorious Service Unit Badge, Service Stripe, and Overseas Service Bars. Label is dated June 9, 1944, size 36R. Name Frank has been handwritten in the collar and a full-size Good Conduct Medal is pinned on the flap of the left breast pocket. The shirt, of the regulation pattern with gas flap (Special), is adorned with 8th Armored Division shoulder sleeve insignia, Private First Class chevrons, one single U.S. collar disc, a medal ribbon (European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Stars), as well as the Good Conduct Medal lapel pin badge and Honorable Discharge lapel pin badge. Size 14 ½ x 32. The back of the rubberized musette bag features a hand-painted version of the 4th Armored Division insignia.
