Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, made up of the following items:
- 'Ike Jacket' of the type adopted in April 1944, retaining its original insignias: 'U.S.' and Infantry collar disks, pair of 376th Infantry Regiment distinctive unit insignias, 90th and 94th Infantry Divisions shoulder sleeve insignias, Staff Sergeant rank stripes, Combat Infantryman Badge (cloth), medal ribbons (Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four stars, WWII Victory Medal), Presidential Unit Citation, 'Ruptured Duck', two Overseas Service Bars, and one Service Stripe; size 34R; name Glass, mention 1 Hq 376 and laundry number G-3779 have been written in the collar;
- OD flannel shirt, which retains its original 90th and 94th Infantry Divisions shoulder sleeve insignias, along with its Sergeant rank stripes; laundry number G3779 has been written inside.
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
William Ross Glass was born on 1912 in Greenville, Alabama and joined the US Army on December 4, 1942 (ASN 34583779). He went on to serve with Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 376th Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Regiment and deployed to Europe. He was discharged on December 30, 1945 as a Staff Sergeant, and passed away on May 3, 1998.
