Great genuine WWII US Army M1941 short windbreaker jacket, windproof and water-resistant cotton poplin with flannel lining, of the standard regulation type issued to every branch of service in most theaters of operations.

Size on label: 44R.

Shoulder width: 21.25in. Sleeve length: 24.40in.

In very good, worn condition, the present field jacket retains all original buttons and Talon zipper in working order.

Some laundry number has been written in the collar prior to being crossed out; name Richard S. Nugent has been inked besides. 

Richard Sherman Nugent was born on July 3, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana and joined the US Army on September 24, 1942 (ASN 32479533). He deployed to Europe with 44th Evacuation Hospital (England, France, Belgium, Germany) and was discharged in November 1945 as a Technician 4th Grade. He died in an accident on July 27, 1946.
