Genuine WWII US Navy Rain Parka (Buckle Type), synthetic resin-coated cotton cloth, slip-on type. Complete with all original buckles in working order, hood and waist drawstrings, and cuff snap fasteners. Initials H.T.P. have been painted on the back.
Label is clearly legible: Navy Department - Contract NXss 23392 - Large. Contract number indicates that it was produced between February and October 1943.
The present parka is in quite good, worn condition and shows a few tears and holes.
