Nice genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front rim seam and swivel loops, manufactured by Schlueter, shell number 367A.
Original OD 7 canvas chinstrap with steel buckle and hook.
The outer surface of the shell has been covered with a layer of light grey paint and adorned with a single white strip (about 1.5-inch-high) around the full circumference, indicating that the present helmet saw service with some naval amphibious unit.
Good overall condition.
