Rare genuine WWII US Navy M565a aeronautical emergency hat-headnet, standardized in 1944.
Issued in Navy and Marine Corps aircraft survival kits, this type was made up of a cotton cloth hood intended for providing sunburn protection and lined with a mosquito net, which could be secured thanks to a drawstring; the hood could be lifted separately and kept in place on top of the head with its own drawstring.

Complete and in perfect condition; comes in its original kraft envelope along with instructions sheet.
