Rare genuine WWII photograph, in which appears Lieutenant Colonel Henry H. Osmer, commanding officer of 77th Troop Carrier Squadron, 435th Troop Carrier Group.
Original print, in quite good overall condition. The various annotations visible on either side indicate that the present picture was taken on some temporary airfield in Normandy during the month of July 1944. Dimensions: 2.8in x 4.1in.
Henry Herman Osmer was born on May 11, 1913 in New York City and was awarded his pilot's wings as a 2nd Lieutenant on November 19, 1938. He passed away on December 29, 2004.
