Small genuine WWII US Army Air Force camouflaged pilot chute, hallmarked NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE FIBRES INC. and dated July 18, 1943.
Without frame. Diameter 2 ft 30.
The pilot chute is the small canopy which is at the top of the main parachute canopy. It extracts the canopy from its bag for all controlled opening jumps.
