Vest, Life Preserver, Mae West, Type B-3, USAAF, 1942

Rare genuine WWII USAAF B3 life preserver vest of the standard regulation type intended for pilots and other aircrews —the legendary 'Mae West'.

Manufactured by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in February 1942, inspected in 1943, 1944 and 1945.

Quite good, worn condition; retains all straps, rubber hoses, and both emplacements for CO₂ cartridges.

All metal parts show some degree of oxidation; snap hook is in working order.
