Genuine WWII scan of a V-Mail sent on November 22, 1943 by Lt. Harry E. Fox Jr., serving in VMF-422 (Marine Fighting Squadron 422).

In order to standardize, hasten and facilitate the shipping and delivery of the mail written by servicemen deployed overseas, the US Army instituted the V-Mail system in 1942; the message would be written on a special form which was then photographed on 16mm film by the theater of operations processing center.
