Nice genuine WWI US Army M1905 bayonet, intially intended for the M1903 Springfield rifle yet later used with the M1 Garand rifle during WWII.
Manufactured by Springfield Armory in 1917 (see hallmark on the left side of the ricasso) and subsequently shortened by Union Fork & Hoe (see initials UFH on the tang); the tip of the blade shows a Bowie type angle.
Following this modification, this type was redesignated M1 in March 1943.
Very good overall condition (the blade is well preserved); comes in its bakelite scabbard.
